Low APR Credit Cards for Students

Are you a college student right now looking for a credit card? If you are, you have probably entered this page because you are looking for student credit card with low APR. Well, instead of showing you cards that have a low APR that you may already know, I will explain to you why the APR should not a matter when you are a student.

If you are not familiar with the APR on the card, this is an interest that you will be charged on unpaid balances. For example, let's say your balance is $200 and you only pay $100. You are going to pay interest on that $100.  Many students have the mis-conception that is not true at all like they have to pay interest regardless of how they use their cards.

Always pay your bill in full
I do not care if your interest rate is just 2% or even 100% , but when it comes to paying your credit card bill, you will not pay a dime in interest rates to the bank as long as you pay in full. I say it is only a matter if you get 0% but most likely you will not find this unless it is a teaser rate. Now does an APR really a matter for you?

0% cards can be found but once again, you should read the fine print because you will know that you will get that rate on either a balance transfer or any other for the first 6 - 12 months.  Now, I'm not saying you need a lawyer but a simple glance at the terms and conditions should give a better idea for you of what the card is all about.

So, if you are looking for a low interest rate student credit card, I would recommend you to check the card is it benefit you with rewards rather than the interest rate itself, because that should not a matter. With some cards on the market, do your homework and find the best card for you.

 - Amounts
Do not spend more than you make. That is a definite thing, but some people still do not follow it. If you do not buy everything you "want" on your credit card, and you have the money to pay it off, you will be fine. It is that simple. Many people rack up their credit cards, and do not have money to pay for it.

- Paying on time
You also want to make sure that you are paying your credit card bills on time. If you do not you may have a cost, and your credit score will drop eventually.

- Full amount
Whenever you can pay your credit card bill off in full, do it. You never want to pay the minimum amount due to your interest rates at the end you will make you end up paying much more than you thought before. So, always attempt to pay off your bills in the full amount.

- Do not exceed
You may also considering this one, never want to exceed your credit card limit. Because if you do, you will see that it will not work again until you pay it off.  That may not seem like a big problem, but when you have to pay the over limit fees. I assure you will not be happy!

- Keep track
I am sure that you will want to keep track of everything you purchased on your credit card. Because that will make you keep in your budget, and will allow you to see how much you are spending. It is easy to forget the little things that we bought, which add up over time!!

Using a credit card takes a lot of responsibility. It can be a great thing for people, and it can also cause a lot more damage to others. So, if you do not think you are ready for one, do not consider getting one yet.
